Our story began about six years ago. We were on our honeymoon in an Airbnb in East Nashville and the energy and vibrancy led us to fall head over heels in love with Tennessee and the “City of Music.” We still remember today, like it happened yesterday, the moment we looked at each other and decided that this was going to be our home. The only thing standing in our way was that we were only tourists from Israel at the time; we both had careers and our family and friends all existed back home.

Fast forward, David took a year off with no pay and Alona resigned from her job…we flew to the U.S. with our two dogs: Fender and Gibson, and a couple of suitcases. We started our journey in Topeka, KS of all places! At the time it made sense to start somewhere where we knew a few people who could become our first circle of friends while in a new country. It was a rough start back at square one with minimum wage/entry level positions, Alona performing in small, local bars for tips, and David teaching CrossFit in a local gym.

A year and half later we came to a decision that we need to change our location, so God’s country here we come, Colorado. We bought our first home in a small town called Granby, and we were officially taking the next step in our journey. The town was small and cozy, the people friendly and welcoming! Even though the weather was harsh on us, -40 will make your lungs freeze, it was our first break. David became a police Officer at the local department and Alona took a job at an insurance company.

This is where it all started for us; a couple who makes music together. We played some local bars and restaurants and even when our daughter Joy was born, we would still play some local gigs. Right before we welcomed our little girl, we recorded our first EP - “Still on Top” in a local Music Studio. We cannot describe the experience in enough detail, but it was absolutely challenging in the best of ways. With Alona’s experience, David joined her in the studio and they were able to create magic.

While Granby was our small piece of heaven, the world soon changed. Everything closed down for about two years causing us to reevaluate every decision made so far. After some discussion, we decided that we should go big or go home and by that we meant literally. Tennessee had always been our destination, but life seems to get in the way until you make something happen. So again, we chose to take a leap of faith and relocate a third and final time.

Home sweet home Tennessee! It came down to a two-week crunch for us to sell our house in Granby and buy our new house in a small town in Trousdale County near Nashville. (BTW, we bought the house online like it was a T-shirt you can return, we didn’t have the time to fly and see the house, so we put an offer before we even saw it in person.) Little did we know it was one of our best decisions. The house was magical and perfect for the next step in our journey. Out in the country with farms all around, we had finally found our American Dream.

Five years have gone by, and once a young couple of immigrants from Israel, were now fulfilling a journey they once dreamed of. We bought a house, built our music studio, provided our daughter a place to run around and grow up…our dogs Fender and Gibson still don’t believe how much they get to roam now and truthfully, we still stand in awe of where we have landed.

So, who are we? Our names are Alona and David Sofer. We are parents, musicians, and artists, but most important we are here to make something out of our story.

Current day: We just completed our new single “My American Dream,” our true life-story tribute. We teamed up with a great and young ambitious producer from the Nashville area and this time we're doing it again, go big or go home but this time home is here in Nashville, TN.

Short answer, yes! However, being new to the area and juggling jobs, a kid, and our two dogs we do not have a set plan for live shows yet. Stay tuned to our events page for when we announce a show!
